The National African Religion Congress has various activities and lectures throughout the year. We all learn together in our mission to support the African religious communities throughout the world, and we all have fun doing what we do. Below are some of our past events.

November 2023

NARC received an invitation to a ceremony for the Orisa Osun, courtesy of one of our dedicated members. The event, attended by NARC-certified priests and priestesses, aligns with our mission to advocate for the rights of certified practitioners, promoting the freedom to practice their religions.

October 2023

NARC embarked on a significant journey to Roatan, Honduras, where they visited the Garifuna Tribes. This engagement marked a continuation of NARC's longstanding interest in the Garifuna people, a narrative initiated years ago by NARC's Founder, Gro Mambo Angela Noványón Idizol. Chairman Yatandé played a pivotal role in the group that met with the elders of the Garifuna community, engaging in meaningful discussions about the mission and purpose of NARC. This encounter has paved the way for a fresh and promising relationship with the vibrant Garifuna Community, fostering a connection that holds the potential for collaboration and mutual understanding.

September 2023

NARC delegates, led by Chairman Yatandé, were granted a special opportunity to participate in a pivotal United Nations meeting. The focus of the discussion was centered on enacting legislation to protect the Terreros (sanctuaries) of the Candomblé people in Brazil from poaching activities. Delegate Delberto, representing Salvador Bahia and all Terreros, played an active role in addressing the urgent need to safeguard the cultural and environmental heritage of the indigenous community. Notably, Babalawo Ernesto Pichardo, pivotal in NARC's development due to his landmark Supreme Court decision, joined the meeting via Zoom, lending additional significance to the ongoing efforts.

May 2023

Following the event in North Carolina, the University invited Chairman Yatandé to join a diverse team traveling to Salvador, Bahia, Brazil. NARC was tasked with developing strategies to counter agencies seeking to exploit the land and trees occupied by indigenous and African communities for centuries. The Chairman not only addressed solutions during his talk but also collaborated with a team to implement actionable measures, garnering support from governmental agencies. The pressing issue of racism and discrimination took center stage, driven by violent clashes where elder leaders in Terreroes (Candomblé sanctuaries) were targeted and assaulted by Christian gangs, prompting the need for effective solutions.

April 2023

Chairman Yatandé participated in a panel organized by the African Spiritual Council against Racism and Discrimination at the University of Charlottesville, North Carolina.

March 2022 and 2023

Chairman Yatandé was invited by Chief Eagle Hawk to address The Stoney Creek Pow-Wow in Friendship, MD, where he emphasized the critical necessity for unity between Native Americans and African-Americans. In his talk, Chairman Yatandé underscored the damaging effects of disunity, emphasizing the collective strength that could be harnessed through collaboration between the two communities.

October 2022

Chairman Yatandé and NARC delegates were invited to the Akan festival for Nana Asi at the Akan Temple of Akompho Mena Yaa Bradua in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida.

June 2022

Chairman Yatandé and NARC delegates were present at the Violin for Osun event in Philadelphia, PA. During the occasion, Chairman Yatandé addressed the attendees, emphasizing the significance of NARC and its mission.
